Department of Physics, Tripura University (A Central University), Agartala, Tripura, India has organized Third International Conference on Material Science (ICMS2020) conference during 04-06 March, 2020.
The aims and objective of this conference was to focus attention for innovative research activities in material science in the North-Eastern region and in a broad sense in International/National level. There were one Keynote Lecture, twenty Invited Talk (Indian: 15; Foreign: 05) and 179 Indian: 172; Foreign: 07) contributory presentations and 57 participants without paper. Twelve technical sessions were there. This three days conference covered the emerging areas of Material Science and Physics as well as its interdisciplinary relevance.

Outcome of the Conference:
ICMS2020 conference provided a forum for scientists, researchers and educators around the world to exchange state-of-the-art research and development and identify research needs and opportunities in all aspects of Material Science. This conference gave the participants an exposure to some of the latest developments in the field of material science and also offered a forum for academic interaction with the eminent scientists of National and international level. ICMS2020 conference helped to establish research collaboration among the researchers of this backward region with the established / renowned scientist in India and abroad. This conference also helped to motivate and encourage the young generation towards research and development in material science as well as basic sciences. The Invited Speakers and senior scientists working in India and abroad assured the young research scholars for any future collaboration or guidance.

Recommendations and Plan of action for future:
- Emphasis has been given on collaborative research among the researchers of North East with the researchers in different universities and research Institutions outside the North East region in India and
abroad. - It has been decided to organize 4th ICMS conference in the year 2023 at Tripura University.
- The Invited Speakers and other senior scientists encourage the young researchers working in this field. They also suggested the scholars to contact them for any help with respect to discussions as well as to avail experimental facility.
